Logistics, Decision and Information Sciences

Welcome to the sub-department Logistics, Decision and Information Sciences. The two chairgroups Information Technology (INF) and Operations Research and Logistics (ORL) have recently joined forces in one cluster Logistics, Decision and Information Sciences (LDI). The LDI sub-department was created 1 january 2008, but both constituent chairgroups have existed since the seventies. Beulens has been chair of the INF group since the mid-nineties, and he laid the foundation for INF’s research programme. Van der Vorst, ORL chair, was appointed professor in Logistics and OR on 17 January 2005 and has started a research programme for the ORL group since then. As of 2005 both groups have invested in collaboration, disciplinary strengthening, increased research focus. Research is subsumed within Mansholt Graduate School.
